- This gallery features works of art by Sharon Isaaks.
Born in Vancouver, B.C., grew up in the Fraser Valley and developed a love for Art in my teenage years. My love for gardening and outdoor life kept me motivated to paint, but family and circumstances compelled me to seek a position in the business field and worked for Jack Cewe Ltd. (Paving Contactors) for 32 years.
After being accepted to Emily Carr, I felt a need to create a variety of art works, and the learning of different techniques: colour and texture, which intrigues my imagination in countless ways. My greatest love is to paint Tropical Birds and Flowers, and I have occasionally tried my hand in Acrylics and Pastels, and find both mediums a great challenge.
My passion to paint is sparked by something I see. I rely on my camera to record those precious moments in time. I have attended numerous workshops, and I found out that being an artist makes me slow down and see Mother Nature and all her details, that’s why I fell in love with watercolour, as it was clean, fresh and colourful.
In 2001, my husband and I moved to the country life in the South Cariboo Region of British Columbia where I enjoyed the company of fellow artists as a member of the Cariboo Artists’ Guild in 100 Mile House, B.C. and opened my own “ True Colors Art Studio” located at the west end of Horse Lake. Here, I offered watercolour classes for a number of new artists.
In October 2014 we moved to Desert Cove, Vernon, B.C. where I have set up a studio in our new home. In January 2015 I became a member of the Okanagan Artist of Canada, Vernon, B.C which I am now the President.
