KASANDRA BARDELL

Rest in peace dear friend ~ Kasandra was a long standing member of the OACS and generously donated many books to our library over the years. She was an art teacher and mentor to many and will be truly missed. Kasandra's journey started at a very early age with an undeniable passion for colour and artistic expression. The expressive talents and passion continued to grow day by day being fueled by each new creation. Growing up amongst the vivid, vibrant and ever changing colours and contrasts of the Southern Ontario landscape, she acquired the understanding and depth of artistic character to fully appreciate the life form within everything and how to expressively portray that feeling. Her inspiration was derived from the Old Masters as well as the contemporary artists. Kasandra had an eye for detail and a passion for colour and with each brush stroke she infused a breath of life into her creations. As a gifted artist and storyteller, she mastered the ability to capture moments in time, in a two dimensional realism that when you experience her work it speaks to you. Over 25 years, Kasandra taught art to young and old alike. Kasandra continued to take workshops with prominent and professional artists to keep abreast of new techniques. Some of her mentors included Arleta Pech, Michael O'Toole, Aeron and Kiff Holland. She shared the benefits of these workshops with her students. |
