• Phone At a young age Amber was taught the basics of painting from her father who was an oil painter. In her teenage years and as a young adult she continued to study art, in various forms, taking classes in drawing, pottery, watercolour painting to even jewelry making. Amber says “I believe that art, be it poetry, painting, music, sculpture… is our human expression and celebration of the world around us". After a hiatus away from creating to earn a living Amber returned to art. In 2005 she started taking classes in pottery, then in 2013 she took a class in watercolour painting. Mostly self taught she has taken various painting classes and workshops, exploring various styles and techniques. After purchasing a box of old oil paints it is now her preferred medium. Her goal when painting is to give the viewer pleasure and to contemplate what they are seeing. |
