TWYLA TUCKER
- November 2017
In Loving Memory ~ It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear friend Twyla in November of 2017. She was truly an amazing artist and we were privileged to have known her. Goodbye dear friend, we will miss you. Twyla was born in Innisfail Alberta and spent her early childhood on a farm where she learned to love animals; particularly horses. At the age of thirteen the family moved to Three Hills, Alberta where she graduated and worked as an accountant at the T.D. Bank. Twyla became interested in a young oilfield worker from Fort St John and went on to marry and raised their family two sons and a daughter. She studied at the Northern Lights College as an Interior Decorator and Floral Designer this inspired her to take up painting, once again at the Northern Lights College. Twyla was a founding member of the well-known Group of Five of Fort St. John and has been successful at Juried shows, including those at the Banff School of Fine Arts and received awards from the Penticton Festival of the Arts. She won many People’s choice awards, along with many ribbons. Twyla initially painted in oil and soft pastels, after moving to the Okanagan she studied under Samara Carrier Academies of Arts and David Dose School of Art in Kelowna. |
